  Mission Statement :
The mission of the college is to create an institution which can be distinguished from other institutions in the city for reasons of quality education, advancement of knowledge and application of new technologies in the delivery of curriculum.
 
GENERAL RULES
Library acquires high quality instructional and other learning materials to enrich the perspective of its ever-increasing users. The objective is to facilitate users requirements and demands of the curriculum and provide access to the information that can be utilized in all spheres of the academic as well as the professional lives.

General Collection

In addition to supporting course requirements and research needs, the general collection supplement the wide variety of patron's interests.

Text Books Collection

These are books that are on high demand and there are limited copies in the library. They are usually reserved and borrowing of these books is limited to some definite period of time. Normally these resources are consulted within the library. It consists of the textbooks, read-outs and photocopies of the articles recommended as course readings.

Urdu Collection

Library maintains separate collection of books published in Urdu. This collection consists of Urdu Literature, Seerat-un-Nabi [PBUH], Islamic philosophy, theology, clash of civilizations, and translations of the Holy Quran.

Information Services and Facilities

The Library services include lending, reference, current awareness service, SDI service, and in-depth research assistance and photocopying.

Reference Desk

The Reference/Help Desk is located at very visible and convenient location in the library and is staffed during scheduled library hours to provide patrons with in-depth and referral assistance. Patrons may contact the Help Desk through email at library@tuf.edu.pk.com and by calling at 041-8868326-30 ext. 124.

Lending / borrowing Services


Library materials are borrowed and returned at the circulation desk that is located near the main entrance. Library materials like periodicals, reference books, government publications, publications of World bodies, CDs are not be issued. 

Photocopying Facility

The photocopy facility is available. Students/patrons can get the photocopy of required materials with in copyright law.

Recommend/suggest a purchase

The library welcomes faculty, staff and participants to recommend any material, which can add value to our library collection. The requests will be reviewed and purchase would be made subject to approval and availability of funds.

General Rules

Students are expected to observe the following rules while using the library facilities. Any violation may incur disciplinary action.
  • Leave your personal belongings (bags, handbags etc.) at the library entrance.
  • Take care of your belongings as library disclaims any responsibility for loss or damage.
  • Keep your cell phones on silent mode/switch off within library premises.
  • To make the library environment more conducive for reading, gossiping, cell phone calls, sleeping, eating, drinking, chatting, and disturbing the order of library furniture is strictly prohibited.
  • Submit library material(s) for inspection, if requested.
  • Underlining, marking, folding and tearing pages of library materials is prohibited.
  • Keep the library materials on shelves after consulting/reading.
  • Library membership could be suspended or canceled along with a penalty in the following cases:
  • Non payment of library fine(s)
  • Theft of library material(s)
  • Non payment of damage fine
  • Non returning of the temporary issued material within due time
  • Any kind of disturbance in library
  • Misconduct with the library staff
  • Breaching of established library rules and norms

Photo copying facility is available in the library within copyright provisions

BORROWING RULES

  • All registered members with valid UCW ID are entitled to borrow library materials.
  • Reserved books are to be issued for only two days.
  • Books borrowed by any patron can be reserved.
  • Reserved books may be collected within 3 days from the circulation desk.
  • Book(s) borrowed by any patron can be renewed for a period of 15 days as long as the same is not reserved by another patron.
  • Non-circulating materials such as reference books, encyclopedias, CD-ROMs, annual reports, current journals, journals and newspaper archives, audio/video materials, text books, Theses and research projects cannot be borrowed.
  • Non-circulating materials can only be used within library premises.
  • Any of the borrowed library materials is subject to recall as and when needed by the library.
  • If the patrons misplace any library material and is unable to find them, it is recommended to report at circulation desk immediately to avoid overdue fines.
  • Any of the library materials not returned within 30 days after the due date will be considered as lost.
Certain fines are charged for overdue (not returned on time) library materials. This is an effort to provide patrons an equal opportunity to make use of library materials and to maximize sharing of library collections.
